Paris 2024
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games were the 17th Summer Paralympic Games. The Games were held in Paris, France, from 28 August to 8 September 2024, and featured 549 medal events across 22 sports.
The opening ceremony was held outside a stadium for the first time, with a parade down the Champs-Élysées to Place de la Concorde. Some of the venues included the Eiffel Tower, the gardens of the Chateau de Versailles, and the Grand Palai. The final Saturday’s Paralympic athletics session sold more tickets than any session of the same Olympic competition and more tickets were sold for Paralympic swimming than for the Olympic counterpart!
The next Paralympic Games will be held in Los Angeles in 2028.

Isaiah Benjamin
T37 - Athletics (High Jump)
Being in Paris opened Isaiah’s eyes to the magnitude of the Paralympic Games. In an interview, he shared that initially, he thought it would be a small event, but it turned out to be much bigger than he expected. The experience gave him a clear sense of what it was all about, and he was thrilled to return the next time. Going back to the islands after the Games he hopes people see him in a different way, realising what an achievement he made. He now hopes to encourage other young people to get involved in track and field events on the island after his incredible experience in Paris.
